Almond Blossom

Biography

Carolyn is passionate about storytelling, writing, directing, creating, and anything that allows her to freely express her artistry in unique and innovative ways that honor those who came before her. For as long as she can remember, she has always had an appreciation and love for taking photographs that capture timeless memories and simple moments that she’s blessed to experience each day. She likes to find the beauty in the simple and natural things of life and enjoys celebrating the people, especially the women of color, who have molded and shaped her into the woman she is today. A movie that has had a significant impact on Carolyn’s life is the 1997 Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella because it was the first time, as a little girl, where she saw herself represented in a movie and seen as phenomenally magical and beautiful, just like Brandy and Whitney Houston.

When not working on her craft, Carolyn finds joy in music, photography and art. Art will always be Carolyn’s first love and inspires her to see the world from many aesthetically different and diverse perspectives. Music is a huge part of Carolyn’s life as well, whether it’s singing, making Spotify playlists, creating music/singing with her sisters, or jamming to her favorite songs on repeat. She also loves brunch, binge watching TV shows, writing poetry, and morning/evening walks with her mom and two dogs, getting to witness breathtaking Texas sunrises and sunsets. Carolyn is forever grateful for her family and their endless love and support.
